The road to employment
A new service is now being offered by staff at Community House in Wisbech to address issues which may be a barrier to work.
A programme of community-based activities will be delivered on a one-to-one and/or group basis with clients aimed at building confidence and identifying the support needed to get back on the road to employment.
Funded by the Department for Work and Pensions, the joint project between Circle Housing Roddons, Fenland District Council and JobCentrePlus will run for a year and is designed to help people in an informal setting.
There will be openings for volunteering including gardening and helping run events in the area, confidence courses as well as help with employability skills such as writing job applications and preparing for interviews.
Referrals will be made through JobCentrePlus, Circle Housing Roddons and other organisations although clients can also contact Community House directly. It is anticipated that most of the clients will be in receipt of Employment Support Allowance and Wisbech Residents.
